При логине некоторых юзеров понадобилось выдать всплывающее окно с кнопкой OK. Как можно это реализовать? Понятно, что через логинскрипт юзера, но как вызвать всплывающее сообщение? Все клиенты – Windows 98/2000.

Login Message of the Day

Login Message of the Day is a Novell Login Extension. It ties into the login process and allows an administrator to specify a message file to be displayed before the login process. This file can be in standard Windows .TXT format, or in .RTF format. It also allows the administrator to force a user to accept an agreement before logging into the system.

Installation

The Login Message of the Day is installed as part of the dirXperts package. It is installed with the typical install, or can be specifically selected when choosing a custom install.

The installation program:

Installs the login extension
Registers the login extension with the Login program
Installs a small configuration utility and places it in the start menu
Installs a .ADM file that may be used with ZENWorks extensible policies
Installs this documentation file (Login Message of the Day.htm) and places it in the start menu


Administration

Login Message of the Day comes with a configuration utility. This utility can be accessed by going to the "Start" menu, going to "Programs", selecting "Novell" under Windows 9x or "Novell (Common)" under Windows NT and Windows 2000. Run the program "Login Message of the Day Configuration."

Alternatively, an .ADM file can be used with ZENWorks extensible policies. The .ADM file is installed in the LgnMD sub-directory under the install directory. (By default this is C:\Novell)

The configuration allows you to:

Enable\Disable the login extension
Specify when the Message of the Day will be displayed: Always; at Initial Login Only; at Unlock Only; or at Initial Login and Unlock only. (Note: the Unlock option works under Windows NT/2000 only if Novell's GINA is used, and works under Windows 9x only if the NDS Screen Saver is installed.)
Specify the buttons on the Message of the Day dialog: Ok; Yes and No; or Agree and Disagree. If Yes / No is selected, the user must choose Yes, or the login will be aborted. If Agree / Disagree is selected, the user must choose Agree, or the login will be aborted. In addition, if the dialog requires a choice at initial login, a Shutdown button will also appear if the system is configured to allow shutdown without login. (See Microsoft documentation for details on how to do this.)
Specify the caption that will appear on the title bar of the Message of the Day dialog.
Specify the file that will be displayed in the Message of the Day dialog. This file may be .TXT format or .RTF format. The file must be accessible to the system without being logged into the system.


Usage

This extension is automatically applied when it is installed. Whenever the login program is loaded, it automatically loads the Login Message of the Day extension and the configuration is respected.

Мне для этих целей понравилась программка SayIt.exe - крошечная, не требующая установки на рабочую станцию (куда-нибудь в \PUBLIC\ кинул - и запускай), "дубовая" по интеллекту - просто тупо выводит окно, в котором повторяет то, что ей передали в качестве параметра. В окне после текста - одна кнопка "OK", по которой она завершается. Недостаток один - не подходит для длинных сообщений (можно нарваться на ограничение длинны командной строки).

Прекрасно запускается из логин-скрипта - как раз на тот случай, когда есть необходимость приостановить его выполнение, чтобы убедиться, что пользователь прочитал, что ему говорят (и нажал "OK").

Брал на Cool Solutions сто лет назад.
