Видимо дело в настройках. Вечная проблема Novell. Даже если и ставится легко и выглядит как приложение для Windows и работает под Windows, но для настройки его надо ящик пива выпить.

Насколько понял надо настривать через конфигурирование

strtup.aa

Однако их ДВА.
Один в каталоге aa, другой в ma.
Документация, если честно не очень понятная. На русском только Юридическая информация.
Есть ли где-нибудь русифицированная дока?

Зря ты так на Messenger, когда я его ставил на тестовый сервер он проинсталлировался и запустился сразу, без ковыряния каких либо настроек(сервер NW51sp6), правда было одно но - на этом же сервере тестировался GW65, в который судя по доке и сайту Novell входит служба быстрых сообщений - т.е Messenger. - но на моих "лицензионных" CD его не было, видимо входит при "правильной" покупке.
Попробую поставить на сервер с чистым NW - результат скажу.

два конфига - ессно, их и должно быть два - для собственно messaging agent и archive agent. Эт раз. Второе - если бы ты внимательнее доку читал, никаких проблем не было бы. Там по шагам все расписано - в какую кнопочку ткнуть, куда смотреть и все такое.

И эта... У нас теперь супервынь настраивается лехко, да? :lol:

В strtup.aa перечислено несколько объектов. Проверь, все ли они есть в твоем дереве, правильно ли указан пароль пользователя, под которым агенты коннектятся к дереву, достаточно ли у этого пользователя прав и т.д. и т.п.
Если это не большой секрет, выкати содержимое обоих strtup.aa.
Посмотрим, сравним.

Я бы рад. Но очень многое не понятно.
Синтаксис нигде не объяснён.
При запуске ругается на дефайлтного юзера.

Дык... У тя архив-агент не стартует, а не мессенджер! Или таки мессенджер-агент?

У меня ситуация была - когда наоборот. Архив-агент работал ОК

Что сразу бросилось в глаза:
В файле strtup.aa у Аркадия есть такая строка:
/home-CN=ArchiveAgent,OU=FS1SERVER,OU=MessengerService,O=EMA
У меня она выглядит так:
/home-"CN=ArchiveAgent,OU=FS1SERVER,OU=MessengerService,O=EMA"

Имя пользователя и пароль имель в виду эти:
/user-ADMIN.EMA
/password-qwerty
Прав этому пользователю по-видимому хватает:)

У меня тож безо всяких кавычек. Все работает

Странно. У него S на ROOT. Это ж Admin!

В документации сказано, что CN=ArchiveAgent надо давать права как у Admin.
Я ему ничего не дал. Как сделался так и оставил. Может тут проблема?
И это. В документации сказано, что GroupWise Messanger построен на eDirectory. В этом дереве eDirectory нет. Только NDS. Если честно я вообще не в курсе что такое eDirectory для NW и как его (и главное зачем) ставить.

Аркадий... Для начала - какая версия DS.NLM у тебя пользуется? Поставить едир - религиозные убеждения не позволяют?

И - если написано в книге, что надо дать права - значит их надо дать. Или не удивляйся, что ничего не работает
